A custom surgical guide is then used to help reproduce the planned position, angle and depth during treatment.

Because the implant position is planned digitally before the procedure, the surgical stage itself can often be completed in a relatively short time. The exact duration depends on the number of implants, bone condition and the individual treatment requirements of each patient.

Not every patient is automatically suitable for flapless guided implant surgery. Suitability depends on factors such as available bone volume, the position of important anatomical structures, gum condition and general health. For this reason, each patient is evaluated individually using clinical examination and three-dimensional imaging before treatment.

Implant surgery is performed under local anesthesia, which numbs the treatment area during the procedure. Because guided surgery may require less extensive manipulation of the gum in suitable cases, postoperative discomfort may also be reduced. However, pain levels and healing responses can vary from patient to patient.
